Frequently Asked Questions
What swords and blades fit this hanger?
Our leather sword hanger fits katanas, bokken (wooden practice swords), wakizashi, sabers, machetes, decorative swords and most blades up to standard length. Available in S/M/L to match different scabbard widths.
Is this a safe display method for a sharp sword?
Yes. The leather strap holds the sword in its scabbard securely. The genuine leather cradles the scabbard without putting pressure on the blade. We recommend always displaying swords in their scabbard for safety and to protect the blade edge.
Can this hold a full katana set (katana + wakizashi + tanto)?
For a full katana set, order 3 straps and mount them at decreasing heights — katana at top, wakizashi in middle, tanto at bottom. This creates a traditional Japanese sword display wall. Very popular with our Japanese customers.
Will the leather scratch my lacquered scabbard?
No. Full-grain distressed leather is naturally soft and won’t scratch lacquered surfaces. Many collectors specifically use our leather straps instead of metal stands to protect expensive scabbards.
How to Mount on Your Wall
For a single sword, mark two mounting points at roughly 1/4 and 3/4 of the blade’s length.
For a vertical display, mount straps one above the other at the desired height.
Screw the strap(s) into the wall using the pre-punched holes.
Lay the sword (in scabbard) into the leather loops — the strap cradles it securely.
